Bio

Joseph McNamara Hefner grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Southern Pines, North Carolina.

 

His short films include Discreet Top (2024), Command These Stones (2024), Roosevelt Island (2020), and Guy (2017). His one-act play Agency (The Company Ink) received the 2018 New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Original Short Script. His nonfiction pieces covering the abuse crisis at his college alma mater have been published in An Injustice! and OnStage Blog.

 

He lives in Vermont.
